Every organization needs volunteers. We are doing a pilot research study in Houston using FibroScan screening for unidentified fatty liver (NAFLD AND NASH) liver disease. These diseases are usually silent and people often become ill before they learn that their liver is damaged. Our goal is to provide an early warning of possible disease.
We need a few volunteers to help with the patient flow and education about liver disease. The ideal person would be a liver transplant recipient able to talk with people about the disease, but compensated NASH patients are also good candidates. The most important qualification is a desire to make a difference for people who have or are at risk for liver disease.
If you would consider working with us on the project, let us contact you and get acquainted.
The initial location will be in Texas City, Texas which is near Galveston. However, long term we plan 400 locations around the nation so opportunities to help will be everywhere. Even if you can't help in Houston let us know of your interest and we will keep you informed as the project matures.
See the list below for other ways you might be able to help.
